Tim Gajser Claims First Yamaha MXGP Win Despite Broken Ribs
Hey everyone, it’s Paige Turner here — your Official BlueMoto reporter, and I am absolutely buzzing right now!
What. A. Performance!
Tim Gajser just proved why he’s one of the toughest riders on the planet! After crashing hard in Sardinia on April 12 and breaking some ribs, most guys would have sat out the next round. But not Tim! One week later at the MXGP of Trentino, he showed up ready to battle — and he did it in the coolest way possible.
Picture this: Tim ripping around Pietramurata in a special Valentino Rossi tribute livery! Bright yellow and blue VR46 colors all over his Monster Energy Yamaha Factory bike and gear. The team even rolled out Valentino’s actual MotoGP M1 bike in the awning. The vibes were electric!
Even with those broken ribs making every single breath hurt, Tim went absolutely beast mode. He fought his way to fourth in Race 1, then in Race 2 he turned it up to another level. He charged forward, took the lead, and held it all the way to the checkered flag — grabbing his very first MXGP race win on Yamaha! Yes!
The crowd went wild as he scored a strong 4-1 result and climbed onto the second step of the podium for second overall. What a warrior!
In his video dropped on April 27, Tim said it best: “Hey guys, it’s Tim. Come with me to Italy… I took a hard hit on Sunday in Sardinia and have been fighting through the injury ever since. To line up in Trentino with a tribute to Valentino Rossi’s MotoGP livery was extra special. So glad I could fight through the pain in race 2 and take home a win. That was for you guys in the crowd!”
