SMX League Expands with Women's Championship Integration and New Venue Partnerships

Buckle up, riders! Big news from the SMX League that’s going to shake up the entire moto world — and this one’s full throttle for the ladies!

The Women’s Motocross Championship (WMX) is officially joining the SMX League starting in 2026, and it’s coming in hot with presenting-level support from Synchrony! This is a landmark move that integrates women’s pro motocross into the unified series like never before.

Here’s the lineup:

• Six WMX rounds will run alongside the Pro Motocross Championship

• Racing spreads across two days — Moto 1 on Fridays and Moto 2 on Saturdays

• Full broadcast coverage on Peacock, plus expanded global reach through SMX Video Pass

• A special showcase race for WMX at the Monster Energy SMX World Championship Final

MX Sports Pro Racing CEO Carrie Coombs-Russell said it best:

“The WMX was a bright spot for the sport last season and will break new barriers entering the 2026 campaign. This is a landmark moment for the WMX and all female enthusiasts within the motocross community.”

Dave Prater, Vice President of Supercross for Feld Motor Sports, added that Synchrony’s involvement is

“a powerful endorsement of the value these athletes bring to the sport.”

In another massive announcement, the 2026 Monster Energy SMX World Championship Final is heading to an epic new venue: Thunder Ridge at Big Cedar Lodge near Branson, Missouri, on September 26, 2026!

This comes as part of a multi-year partnership with Bass Pro Shops, which now becomes the official outdoor recreation retailer for the entire SMX World Championship series. The venue offers a stunning natural amphitheater with over 20,000 capacity and breathtaking views.

Feld Motor Sports CEO Juliette Feld Grossman called it “a powerful fusion of two fandoms that live for adventure.” Bass Pro Shops founder Johnny Morris said they’re excited to showcase “the natural beauty of the Ozarks while creating unforgettable experiences.”

This builds perfectly on the SMX League’s mission since its 2023 debut — unifying supercross and motocross under one championship umbrella. For 2026, expect 28 regular season rounds (17 Supercross + 11 Pro Motocross) before the big World Championship Final.

I live for race day on the track, but when the sport takes huge steps like this — growing the women’s side and dropping the finale in one of the most beautiful outdoor venues around — you’ll hear it from me first!
