Post-Race Voices: Roczen, Davies & More from Philadelphia Supercross
Paige Turner here, your Official BlueMoto reporter — live for race day, gates dropping, roost flying, and those stories straight from the riders who just battled it out.
We’ve already broken down the race itself, the brutal weather and muddy conditions at Lincoln Financial Field, plus Ken Roczen’s big win in the 450SX class and Cole Davies clinching the 250SX East title. Now let’s hear directly from the riders in their post-race interviews after Round 15 of the 2026 Monster Energy AMA Supercross in Philadelphia.
Ken Roczen (Progressive Insurance Cycle Gear Suzuki) grabbed his fifth win of the season in the shortened main event and took the red plate with a slim four-point lead heading into the final two rounds.
Ken kept it real about the brutal conditions: “The track was way tougher in the main than in the heat race. I needed a clear track, but Hunter and Cooper were right there at the start. I just tried to keep two wheels down, ride smart, and push at the same time.”
Lapped traffic made the closing laps tense: “Towards the end it got close because of the lappers. I had to roll some sections when they were in front, and that let the gap close. I really had to stay focused.”
On those valuable championship points and the calculated push at the finish: “Those points are very valuable. I had a good lead but it got smaller. I had to push hard but not take crazy risks. Things can go sideways in a heartbeat in these conditions.”
With two rounds left and the pressure on, Kenny stayed locked in: “The pressure has been there for a long time, but now I deal with it one weekend at a time. I do what I need to stay calm. This was a big race. I’m really proud of my team and myself. Hard work pays off. Nothing changes for me — we still need to go out and win.”
Cooper Webb (Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing) put in a strong ride and charged hard on the final lap but settled for second: “It got crazy at the end. I went full send. It’s disappointing to finish second after riding so well, but lappers played a part. Overall, it was a good ride and a good night for us.”
Hunter Lawrence (Honda HRC Progressive) crashed early while running up front but showed real fight to bring it home in third and limit the damage: “I had a little crash, but I’m happy with damage control. These mud races throw a lot of surprises at you. I’m glad to get out of here in one piece and look forward to the next rounds.”
The 250 East main was just as wild — red-flagged and restarted in the heavy mud. Cole Davies (Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing) rode smart, pulled away, and won by a big margin to clinch the 2026 250SX East Championship one round early at just 18 years old — his fifth win of the season.
Cole was emotional talking about the title: “This championship means everything to me and my family. We’ve sacrificed everything to come over here and race in the U.S. I cannot thank them enough. All the hard work, the ups and downs — it’s all worth it now. This track was treacherous, but we got it done. A dream come true.”
The relief after a full season of pressure was clear: “I’ve been stressed all season… but I’m alright now.”
Daxton Bennick rode strong from his heat race momentum and stayed smart in the mud for second place: “That race was tough. I rode well in my heat race and carried that into the main. I tried to keep my wheels spinning and stay smart. I’m glad to be back on the podium.”
Seth Hammaker, the hometown hero, took the holeshot but crashed early and again late while pushing for more. He still fought back for third and gave props to the new champ: “I’m bummed because I had big goals for the title this year. But congratulations to Cole — he’s been riding unreal. For me, I feel like I took a step forward this season with better consistency, even if the results don’t always show it. It was still a good year overall, and we have one more race.”
There you have it — raw thoughts straight from the riders who just survived one of the messiest nights of the year. Mud tests character, and these guys showed plenty of it. The championship battles are heating up with two rounds left. I’ll be trackside for every gate drop, bringing you the stories no one else catches.
Until next time… keep the roost flying! 🏁
