Hunter Lawrence Secures Denver Victory as Title Race Narrows to One Point
The gates dropped in Denver and the roost was absolutely flying, and Hunter Lawrence delivered exactly when it mattered most!
On May 2 at Empower Field at Mile High, the Australian Honda rider #96 put on an absolute masterclass in the 450 Main Event. Lawrence seized the lead early and never looked back, riding with incredible smoothness, precision, and zero mistakes to score a dominant victory — his fifth win of the 2026 season. He crossed the finish line more than 12 seconds ahead, sending a massive statement as the championship storm heads into the final round!
This was huge. Entering the night four points behind Ken Roczen, Lawrence slashed that gap all the way down to a single point. After Denver:
• Ken Roczen – 332 points
• Hunter Lawrence – 331 points
One point. One race. Everything still to play for in Salt Lake City.
Lawrence looked locked in from the drop of the gate. He nailed a strong start, took the lead on lap 2, and controlled the entire race like a true champion. No drama, no big moments — just pure, ice-cold race craft under intense pressure. After the checkered flag he summed it up perfectly: “When I see the [30] second board go sideways I get so excited… Let’s go to Salt Lake, baby!”
That’s the Hunter Lawrence we’ve been watching all season. Five wins, twelve podiums, and the kind of rock-solid consistency that builds champions. While others have had their rollercoaster moments, he keeps showing up when it counts.
Now the 2026 Monster Energy Supercross Championship boils down to an epic final showdown at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City on May 9. Two riders. One point apart. Both fighting for their first 450SX title. Lawrence is rolling in with serious momentum and the tiebreaker advantage in his back pocket.
This is pure Supercross drama — the kind we live for! Raw racing, sky-high stakes, and one final gate drop that will decide it all.
I’ll be right there trackside in Salt Lake, catching every moment and every story no one else sees.
Let’s go racing!
