Honda Wins Multiple Red Dot Design Awards Beyond WN7 Electric Bike
Hey riders, it’s Paige Turner from BlueMoto, and I’m pumped about this one! Honda isn’t just building bikes — they’re winning big on the design stage too.
In the 2026 Red Dot Product Design Awards, Honda scored four major wins, including the prestigious “Best of the Best” honors for not one, but two products: the brand-new WN7 electric motorcycle and the UNI-ONE seated mobility robot. The all-new Prelude hybrid sports car and the Miimo robotic mowers also picked up Red Dot Awards. That’s design excellence across motorcycles, cars, robotics, and power equipment — all under one roof!
Let’s talk about the star of the show for us moto fans: the Honda WN7. This is Honda’s first full-size electric naked bike, built under the “Be the Wind” concept. It rocks a clever frameless structure where the battery case actually forms part of the chassis, keeping it slim, lightweight, and super flexible in layout. The standout feature? That bold horizontal-bar headlight — Honda says it’s going to become the signature look for their future electric motorcycles. Clean, modern, and full of attitude.
What’s even cooler is that the same design team behind the WN7 also delivered the other winners. The Prelude brings back that pure sports-car thrill with simulated gear shifts and engine sounds through speakers, while the UNI-ONE lets riders steer just by shifting their body weight — hands-free and super intuitive. And the Miimo mowers? They use advanced Real-Time Kinematic navigation so you don’t even need boundary cables anymore.
Honda’s design bosses are clearly sharing ideas across divisions. Weight-shift tech from the UNI-ONE is feeding into motorcycle controls, and the Prelude’s haptic feedback could show up on future bikes. It’s all about making mobility more fun and enjoyable for everyone.
Toshinobu Minami, Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer at Honda’s R&D Design Center, nailed it:
“We believe that these awards reflect the fact that many people can relate to the passion of Honda to further enhance mobility and ease of everyday activities to make people’s daily lives more fun and enjoyable.”
This marks seven consecutive years Honda has taken home Red Dot Awards. That streak shows they’re serious about using killer design to stand out and pull in new riders who grew up with sleek consumer tech.
With the WN7 leading the charge, Honda is clearly gearing up to expand its electric motorcycle family — and that sharp horizontal-bar lighting signature is likely to show up on more models soon.
Whether you ride gas, electric, or dream about the next big thing, this is proof that Honda is thinking way beyond the track when it comes to how bikes should look and feel.
I’m staying locked in on Honda’s electric future — the next chapter is going to be electric! Because if it happens in moto, you’ll hear it from me first.
Stay pinned, stay safe, and keep the throttle twisted!
Paige Turner
