First Heat Win for Nicholas Romano in Muddy Philadelphia Supercross
Oh man, what a night in the City of Brotherly Love! The skies opened up, the rain poured down, and Lincoln Financial Field turned into a full-on mud-soaked war zone for Round 15 of AMA Supercross. But through all that slop and chaos, Nicholas Romano delivered one of those special moments we live for!
The #141 Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki rider from Bayside/Queens, New York, just scored his first-ever AMA Supercross heat race victory — and he did it in absolutely spectacular fashion in Heat 1 of the 250SX East!
Romano came into the heat locked and loaded after posting a solid 50.484 lap in qualifying (8th overall). When the gate dropped, he and Nate Thrasher were right there battling at the front. Thrasher snagged the early lead after the second turn, but a quick mistake opened the door wide. Romano jumped on it instantly, seized the lead, and began to pull away.
As the track got nastier — deeper ruts, slick spots, and standing water everywhere — Romano stayed incredibly smooth, picked perfect lines, and stretched his advantage lap after lap. Late in the heat, Thrasher mounted one final aggressive charge through the whoops, trying to blitz past, but he lost it and crashed. Romano kept his cool, rode smart and mistake-free, and flew across the finish line to take the win!
Official Heat 1 Results: 1st: Nicholas Romano – 7:37.005 (Best Lap: 1:03.883 on Lap 3). 2nd: Luca Marsalisi (+21 seconds). 3rd: Cole Davies.
Twenty-one seconds ahead in that mud? That’s not just a win — that’s a statement!
Carrying that heat-fire into the 250SX East Main later that night, Romano put in a solid effort and finished 14th with a time of 27:33.972 and a best lap of 1:14.106. The main was brutal, but nothing could dim the shine of that breakthrough heat victory.
YES! This is exactly why we show up race after race. Riding for Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki, Nicholas Romano proved he has what it takes when the conditions get ugly. In the heart of the Philadelphia mud, he stayed composed, rode with heart, and grabbed his first career heat win. What a moment for the kid from New York!
Gates dropping, roost flying, and stories exploding left and right — tonight the spotlight belonged to Nick Romano, and it felt so good to watch it happen.
If it happened on the track, you’ll hear it from me first. Keep the throttle pinned, everyone — more dirt stories coming your way soon! 🏁
