Kawasaki's first KDX250: an air-cooled 250cc two-stroke enduro of the early 1980s, a Cycle World best-enduro winner, unrelated to the liquid-cooled KDX250 of the 1990s.
All-new bike except the hubs: new reed-valve engine, six-speed, semi-double-cradle frame; 1983 changes mostly cosmetic.
Restyled with Uni-Trak rear suspension.
Reed-valve engine, five-speed, twin-shock era styling.
Motorcyclespecs KDX250 sheet (1983-85): 70 x 64.9 mm (249 cc), air-cooled reed-valve two-stroke, 36 mm Mikuni, 33 hp @ 7,000 rpm and 3.5 kgf-m (34.3 Nm) @ 6,500 rpm (not stated as claimed or measured), 111 kg dry, 12.5 L. Motorcyclespecs' seat height (935 mm) and wheelbase (1,475 mm) are identical on its 1981-82, 1983-85 and 1990-92 KDX250R pages, a sign of copied figures, so they are not used. No US MSRP found.
